SEMO MC is not another church program. It’s an adventure where you put your life on hold, dig deep inside yourself, give everything you have, and you focus entirely on God. As you allow Him full access into every area of your life, watch God radically change your life!
Yes…it will help you become a better Christian. More importantly though, it will help you to realize, and achieve, the purpose God has for your life! A person in SEMO MC crosses the line from casual Christianity to sold-out discipleship.
SEMO MC students are exposed to many areas of ministry that will help build you into effective disciples and ministers. You will receive many different ministry and outreach opportunities, both locally and internationally. Hands on Discipleship training like this can not be matched anywhere else!
SEMO MC focuses on the development of “right” attitudes. Some of our graduates will go on to university or Bible College; others will go directly into missions work or other ministry positions; still others may enter the business world or start a family. No matter where our graduates go, they will be impacting the world around them with the power of the Gospel. We help develop young people into strong leaders who will be able to serve the Lord faithfully and fruitfully in different settings around the country and around the world.
Our Core Values:
SEMO Master’s Commission is one of many strong discipleship programs around the world. Each program is somewhat different, reflecting the passion of its leaders and the ministry focus of its host church or organization. We operate by the following core values, shaping who we are into who Jesus has called us to be:
• Personal Discipleship: We lead disciples in a deep, personal relationship with Jesus
Christ for the development of the whole person.
• Personal Discipline: We emphasize discipleship guidelines in the areas of integrity,
self-discipline, and accountability to God and others.
• Passionate Prayer and Memorization: We place a priority on fervent prayer, as well as the memorization of scripture. Prayer and scripture memorization must be more than
just a scheduled event, but rather a foundational part of the Master’s Commission
experience.
• Evangelism: We place a priority on effective evangelism, touching the heart of the
unsaved. Creativity and quality are key elements of Semo MC evangelistic thrust.
Each student should graduate with an inescapable conviction to reach the lost.
What is our Program Like :
Semo MC is an intensive discipleship program based on certain core values and biblical principles. Some students decide to complete just the first nine month school year, while others come back after a summer break to finish the second nine month program. Those who are called to vocational ministry have found the second year of MC particularly beneficial. The following description is an overview of the two-year program.
First Year: Discipleship and Ministry Exploration
Each first year student will…
• Develop a solid devotional life
• Deepen his or her understanding of the Word of God
• Participate in hands-on ministry in the local church
• Develop a passion for excellence in all areas of life and ministry
• Develop disciplines in both personal and public arenas of life
• Grow in his or her understanding of sacrificial leadership
• Participate in a multiple missions/ministry experiences
• Demonstrate a growing ability to discern the Lord’s voice in his or her life
• Gain confidence in God’s unique call on his or her life
Second Year: Leadership Development and Ministry Focus
Each second year student will…
• Continue all first year goals
• Develop and grow in leadership skills and qualities
• Concentrate in local church ministry leadership
• Demonstrate and practice an increased ability to handle responsibility
Whether you choose to attend for one year, two years or more, rest assured that we will work with you to equip you to be ministry ready. At the same time we help you become the best disciple of Christ that you can be. We work with disciples to develop their full potential, find their purpose in Christ, and pursue a dream and vision from God for their life and ministry. We help to give each student world vision and “world-changer” focus.
